The Sons of Aaron - A Shemology

I was sent an email some time ago from Russell Sloan, it contained a Shemology he had done on the names in I Chronicles 24:7-18. I had also done that list of names before, but have never written on the subject till now. Really it was Rev. Dee Sadler and myself that did this list about three years ago. We have done many Shemology sentences in the Bible, but have only posted a few. I am posting this one now because Russell’s is a little different from ours but equally as telling about Messiah. I’m going to put up Russell Sloan's first, then ours will follow. I pray you will enjoy this revealing insight into "The Sons of Aaron by Lot."

* Meanings were taken from Smith's Dictionary of Bible Names, Hitchkock's Dictionary of Bible Names, and Strong's Concordance.

I read between the lines a little. This is my interpretation : (information is parenthesis added) Other interpretations may be possible.

"(The) Fighting Hand of the Lord destroyed the gates. My king is God, the Right Hand, a thorn (to Satan). The Lord is my Savior. The Habitation of the Lord whom God restores, establishing a protection. (He is the) Father's seat, the First born, a lamb. The swine will disperse. (He is the) Gate of the Lord whom God makes strong. He shall establish a recompose (for) the poor of the land (for them to receive) the consolation of God." (Russell Sloan)

Now this Shemology paints for us a very a good picture.

Here is the Shemology Dee and I did about four years ago. The picture that the Sons of Aaron paint for us is indeed very vivid. We found some names not found by Russell Sloan. My source book is very comprehensive.

Meanings were taken from my copy of "Names To Live By" - By Dr. Mahlon McCourrry 1986 This book is as I said most comprehensive, and I’m sorry to say, its out of print.

This is only one of our Shemology interpretation for these 24 names. We found a few that would have made equally as much good sense, however this one we found lots of Scriptures for:

"
The fighting hand of the LORD destroyed the gates (of the enemy). My King is God, and the right hand pierced Yahvah my Savior. The habitation of the LORD whom God restores, establishing His covering. The abiding first born, a Lamb, returning home all the dispersed. The Gate (Door) of the LORD whom God makes strong. He will establish, rewarding the poor of the land, strength of Yahvah." (bold italics are ours) Dee Sadler & Barbara Di Gilio 1996

Here are the Scriptures we found for each sentences of our Shemology:

1. The Fighting Hand of the LORD destroyed the gates (of the enemy).

Deut. 2:15 For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.

Isaiah 66:14-15 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies. For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Genesis 22:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

Isaiah 14:31-32
Howl,
O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times. What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

2. My King is God, and the right hand pierced Yahvah my Savior.

Psalm 5:2 Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to You I pray.

Psalm 22: 16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

Psalm 18:2 Yahvah is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 118:15-18 The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. The right hand of the LORD is exalted; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. I will not die, but live, And tell of the works of the LORD. The LORD has disciplined me severely, But He has not given me over to death.

3. The Habitation of the LORD whom God restores, establishing His covering.

Exodus 15:13 In Your lovingkindness You have led the people whom You have redeemed; In Your strength You have guided them to Your Holy Habitation.

Psalms 132:13-18 For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His Habitation. "This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it. "I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her needy with bread. "Her priests also I will clothe with Salvation, and her godly ones will sing aloud for joy. "There I will cause the horn of David to spring forth; I have prepared a lamp for Mine anointed. "His enemies I will clothe with shame, But upon himself his crown shall shine."

Isaiah 25:7 And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, Even the veil which is stretched over all nations.

This is restoration!
Isaiah 1:26-27
And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city. Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

Matthew 17:11-12 And Yeshua (Jesus) answered and said, "Elijah is coming and will restore all things; but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands."

4. The abiding first born, a lamb, returning home all the dispersed.

Ezekiel 36:19 And I scattered them (Israel) among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

Isaiah 11:12 And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

John 1:29 The next day John seeing Yeshua (Jesus) coming unto him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.

John 7:35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Where will He go, that we shall not find him? will He go unto the dispersed (diaspora) among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

Micah 5:4 And He shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God; and they shall abide: for now shall He be great unto the ends of the earth.

Luke 2:4-7 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Miriam (Mary) his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And Miriam brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

5. The Gate (Door) of the LORD whom God makes strong.

Psalms 24:8-10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

6. He will establish, rewarding the poor of the land, Strength of Yahvah.

Proverbs 15:25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the 'almanah - widow. (almanah also means: a desolate place:--desolate house or palace).

Amos 8:4-7 Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat? The LORD has sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalms 58:10-11 The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. And men will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely there is a God who judges on earth!"

The Shemology story line is there in the names of the Sons of Aaron. All one must do is look for Messiah in "the Volume of the Book" (Psalm 40:7-8). When we do, we see Him in every Hebrew letter, every Hebrew word, and in every name. Shemology is really Dynamite!

My thanks to Russell Sloan for sending in his Shemology on the Sons of Aaron in I Chronicles 24:7-18. His interpretation is well in line with the Scriptures. Let us look at it once again…

Russell's paints the same picture of "Victory for the LORD and His Messiah." How wonderful is the Word of God? it is truly glorious!
